MEMORANDUM TO: Doug Brown FROM: Jim Cicconi RE: Committee on Aging DATE: October 16, 1979 1. The Governor can name a new Coordinator of Aging at any time simply by superceding the designation of Pete Collumb in that position. The Coordinator serves at the pleasure of the Governor. It is my understanding that Pete Collumb was to have been designated Coordinator only until the move to TDCA was completed, and that Chris Kyker would then be named. 2. The Chairman is presently Omar Harvey, who serves a term concurrent with the Governor's. He can be replaced by Ed Palm only if Mr. Harvey resigns. Mr. Palm should resign as a member of the Committee on Aging upon being named Chairman of it. 3. This then leaves Palm's position as a member of the Committee vacant. Carlos Leon can then be appointed by the Governor to fill out the unexpired remainder of Palm's term (through 8-30-81).
