1 Governor ) CLEMENTS Campaign Governor Clements Campaign 805 Brazos Austin, Texas 78701 512 472-1982 DESCRIPTION OF HISPANIC CAMPAIGN DIVISION This division is composed of the director, deputy director, assistant to the director and field representatives in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, Corpus Christi, Houston and San Antonio. This division will concentrate on the middle and upper income brackets of the Hispanic community as the primary target group. The secondary target group will be the lower income bracket. The approach will be to view this category as a "minimize the losses." ORGANIZATION • Hispanic field representatives will recruit phone bank volunteers and poll watchers for election day in precincts that have a pattern of - practice of voting irregularities. • Obtain endorsements from key Hispanic business leaders and community based organizational leaders, i.e., LULAC, American G. I. Forum, and the Texas Association of Mexican Chambers of Commerce (TAMACC) SPEAKERS BUREAU • Hispanic division will work with surrogate group to schedule truth squads to "set the record straight" regarding Mark White in Hispanic areas DIRECT MAIL Targeted Hispanic mailings will be developed to send to the following: - LULAC membership list (18,000) - American G. I.
