Office of Governor William P. Clements, Jr. March 28, 1979 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements has named David L. Shaw of Dallas to be a member of the Texas Amusement Machine Commission. Shaw, 48, will replace L.G. Moore of Houston, whose term expired. Shaw will serve a six year term, expiring Jan.31, 1985. Shaw is president of Shawco, Inc. of Texas, a maintenance service corporation. He is vice-president of Cal-Texas, Inc., which operates retail outlets based in Dallas, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C. He attended Wiley College in Marshall, Texas and served in the U.S. Air Force. Shaw was director of the Dallas Negro Chamber of Commerce in 1964 and director of the Dallas Crime Commission in 1965. He served on the Goals for Dallas Task Force in 1967. Shaw was president of the Dallas-based Pylon Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to promote minority business and ownership, in 1968.
