Office of Governor William P. Clements, Jr. May 3, 1979 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the appointment of: Jose M. Blanco, Jr. of Wharton to be a member of the Texas Amusement Machine Commission for a two-year term to expire Jan. 31, 1981. Blanco is replacing Glyn 0. Ledford of Houston, whose term expired. Sheriff Jack Heard of Houston to be a member of the Ccnmission on Jail Standards for a six-year term to expire Jan. 31, 1985. Heard is being reappointed. Herbert Snow Harris, Jr. of Midland to be a member and chairman of the Industrial Accident Board. Harris will be filling the unexpired term of Cue Boykin of Midland who resigned. Harris' term expires Sept. 1, 1979. A. Max Shield of Garland to be a member of the Texas Surplus Property Agency for a six-year term to expire March 19, 1985. Shield is replacing Dr. William J. Hamm of San Antonio, whose term expired. Mark Dennis Davidson of Houston to be a member of the Texas Closeup Board for a six-year term to expire Jan. 31, 1985. Davidson is replacing Robert G. Meehan of Houston, whose term expired. The Governor also announced the designation of John E. Clark of San Antonio as Interstate Parole Compact Administrator, effective immediately. Clark was United States Attorney for the Western District of Texas. He was appointed to that post by President Gerald Ford and served until May 31, 1977.
