OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. March 5, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of John M. Turner of Dallas and William C. Conner of Fort Worth to be members of the State Commission for the Blind for six-year terms to expire January 1, 1987. Turner, 45, is an independent insurance broker. Conner, 73, manufactures and sells hearing aids. Both are being reappointed to the commission. Governor Clements also named Marti DeCluitt of Waco and William L. Rector, M.D. of Wichita Falls to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council for terms to expire October 21, 1982. Mrs. DeCluitt will replace James W. Gainey, Jr. of Wbodville, whose term expired. Dr. Rector,61, will replace Dr. Carmault B. Jackson, Jr. of Houston, whose term expired. Governor Clements also designated Louie Welch of Houston as Chairman of the Texas Film Commission Advisory Council for a term at the pleasure of the Governor. ••."
