OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. April 9, 1979 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today named Jeral Jo Crowder of houston to the Board of Regents of East Texas State University. Crowder, 55, is president of the J.J. Crowder petroleum consulting firm. He was nominated to succeed G.C. Morris of Austin, and will serve a six-year term extending to February 15, 1985. Governor Clements nominated Clive Runnells of Houston and Ray Rodriguez of Houston to six-year terms on the Texas Turnpike Authority Board of Directors.He reappointed Walter Mischer Jr. of Houston to the board. All will serve until February 15, 1985. Mischer, 28, is executive vice president of the Mischer Corporation. Runnells, 53, is engaged in ranching, banking and cable television. Rodriguez, 26, is legal assistant to the general counsel in the Governmental Affairs Division of Tenneco Oil Company. Berlin Michael Cummings of Fort Worth, 39, attorney, was named by Clements to a six-year term on the Board of Directors of the Trinity River Authority of Texas. Cummings succeeds Frank Barron of Fort Worth. Clements nominated Frank A. Driskill of Wake Village and Lloyd Pearson of Houston as members of the Texas Closeup Board. Driski11,66, and Pearson, 38, succeed Ellsworth R. Drummer Sr. of San Antonio and Milton Stanley of Houston Driskill is retired from The University of Texas extension division. Pearson is executive assistant to U.S. Rep. Bill Archer of Houston.
