January 26, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today asked the Senate to confirm the appointment of former Governor Preston Smith to be a member of the Texas College and University System Coordinating Board for a term to expire August 31, 1985. Smith, 68, will fill the unexpired term of Tom B. Rhodes of Dallas, who resigned upon appointment to the Board of Regents of The University of Texas System. The Governor also asked the Senate to confirm the reappointment of James A. Hallmark,M.D. to be a member of the Hospital Advisory Council for a six-yPar term to expire July 17, 1985. Dr. Hallmark, 68, is a family practitioner. He received a bachelor's degree from Texas Christian University and a medical degree from The University of Texas at Galveston. He and his wife, Frances Ann, have two children.
