Leche to the Texas Committee for the Humanities, Cornelia Friedman to the Texas Sesquicentennial Museum Board, Barto Watson to the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education, and Herbert G. Schiff to be Vice Chairman of the Texas College and University System Coordinating Board.
OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. January 6, 1982 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: Frank Mbnroe of Dallas and C.A. Roberson of Fort Worth to the Board of Trustees of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas for six-year terms extending to August 31, 1987. Monroe, 70, is retired Superintendent of Highland Park Independent School District, Dallas. He received a bachelor's degree from West Texas State College and master's degrce from Colorado State College of Education. He will replace Dr. W.T. White of Dallas, whose term expired. Roberson, 52, is Executive Vice Chancellor of Tarrant County Junior College District. He is chairman of the Finance Committee, Texas Public Junior College Association. He received bachelor's and master's degrccs from Texas Tech University and will replace Dr. Lee R. Williamson of Wichita Falls, whose term expired. Roland White of Houston, Dr. Frank Pino of San Antonio and Paul A. Leche of Austin to the Texas Committee for the Humanities for two-yea,- terms extending to December 31, 1983. White, 42, is President of Cambridge Contract Executive Search and attended University of Houston. Dr. Pino, 39, is Professor and Director , Division of Foreign Languages at University of Texas at San Antonio. He attended Arizona State University undergraduate school and received a PhD from Northwestern University. Leche, 32, is an attorney, Office of General Counsel for the Department of Human Resources. He is chairman of the City of Austin Arts Commission , chairman of the State Bar Committee on the Arts, and trustee and legal counsel for the Texas Fine Arts Association. He received bachelor's and law degrees from The University of Texas. Cornelia Friedman of Fort Worth to the Texas Sesquicentennial Museum Board for a term extending to January 31, 1985. Mrs. Friedman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Arts Council of Fort Worth and Tarrant County, a docent at the Amon Carter Museum and member of the board of the Fort Worth Symphony Association. She attended The University of Texas at Austin. Barto Watson of Humble to the Commission on Law Enforcement Officer Standards and Education for a six-year term extending to August 30, 1987. Watson, 45, owns a contracting firm, is a former DPS officer and is a member of the Humble City Council. He will replace Dan J. Saunders of Stanton, whose term expired. Herbert G. Schiff of Dallas was designated to be Vice Chairman of the Texas College and University System Coordinating Board for a term at the pleasure of the Governor.
