Peddie, Gustavo Ricardo Martinez, and Lee William McNutt, III to the State Drug Abuse Advisory Council, and J. Randel Hill, Mack Wallace, William L. Fisher, and Ron Crawford to the Interstate Mining Compact Commission.
OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. March 17, 1982 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: Mayor Cesar Gonzalez of San Benito, Simon Casper Cornelius of Victoria, and Donald W. Harris of San Antonio to the Advisory Council on Comunity Affairs. Gonzalez 52, is Mayor of San Benito and owns La Villita Meat Market. He will serve a term extending to January 31, 1983. Cornelius, 58, is a lawyer and involved in ranching and farming. Harris, 54, is director of the Friends of Trinity program at Trinity University. Cornelius and Harris will serve two-year terms extending to January 31, 1984. Mayor Gonzalez will fill the position of Mayor of a municipality with population less than 20,000 and Cornelius and Harris will serve as citizen members. All are being reappointed. Monsignor Dermot Brosnan of San Antonio, Martin H. Garza of San Antonio, S.B. Sells of Fort Worth, Lois Still of Pampa, Geraldine Sagebiel Wilson,M.D. of Houston, Fred Sinclair Brinkley, Jr. of Austin, Diane Doran of Del Rio, Rodman S. Peddie of Houston, Gustavo Ricardo Martinez of El Paso and Lee William MeNutt,III of Corsicana to the State Drug Abuse Advisory Council for terms extending to April 12, 1983. Monsignor Brosnan, 52, is Executive Director of the Patrician Movement in San Antonio, a drug abuse treatment program. Garza, 41, is director of the Substance Abuse Program of the Bexar County MHMR. Sells, 69, is Director of the Institute of Behaviorial Research and Research Professor at the Drug Abuse Epidemiology Data Center at Texas Christian University. Mrs. Still is Administrative Director of Genesis House, Inc. Dr. Wilson is Director and Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Baylor College of Medicine. Brinkley, 43, is Executive Director and Secretary of the Texas State Board of Pharmacy. Mrs. Doran works with the Palmer Drug Abuse Program in San Antonio, Eous ton and Kerrville. Peddle, 55, is President of a real estate film and Vice-Chairman of the National Board of Palmer Drug Abuse Program. MArtinez,38, is team leader for the Veteran's Aaministration. McNutt, 26, is Vice President of Collin Street Bakery, a direct mail food film. He is founder and chairman of the Navarro County Drug & Alcohol Abuse program. Monsignor Brosnan , Garza, Sells, Still, Dr. Wilson, Brinkley and Doran are being reappointed. Peddie will replace Robert G. Meehan of Houston, who resigned. Martinez and MeNutt are new appointees. J. Randel Hill, Commissioner Mack Wallace ,William L. Fisher, Ph.D., and Ron Crawford, all of Austin, to the Interstate Mining Compact Commission for terms at the pleasure of the Governor. Hill,Director of Texas Railroad Commission Surface and Reclamation Mining Division, will replace Dr.Fisher on the Resolutions Committee. Wallace, Texas Railroad Commissioner, will replace J.Randel Hill on the Legal Cormiittec. Dr.Fisher, Professor of Geological Sciences at The University of Texas, will replace Don SPraggins on the Research Committee. Crawford, Special Projects coordinator for the Railroad Commission, will replace Mrs. Vita Newsom.
