OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. March 19, 1982 For immediate release: Govellor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: James C. Storm of Corpus Christi to the Board of Directors of the Nueces River Authority for a term extending to February 1, 1983. Storm, 68, is President and Owner of Marine Drilling Company. He is a member of the Chancellor's Council of The University of Texas System, a member of The University of Texas Medical Branch Development Board, Vice Chairman of the Port of Corpus Christi and a member of the Board of Directors of the International Association of Drilling Contractors. He attended The University of Texas and will fill the unexpired term of Vernon G. Schimmel of Sandia, who resigned. James Blue Broussard of Beaumont to the State Board of Morticians for a six-year term extending to January 31, 1987. Broussard, 49, is Vice President of Broussard's Mbrtuary. He is Past President of the Southeast Texas Funeral Directors Association and Past President of the Texas Funeral Directors Association. He attended Texas ALM and Lamar University. He will fill the unexpired term of Louis Newton Sparkman, Jr. of Dallas, who resigned. Jo Rene Newton of Kingsville to the Teachers' Professional Practices Comdssion for a two-year baLm extending to August 31, 1983. Mts. Newton is an art teacher at Henrietta M. King High School and attended Stephens College and The University of Texas and Texas ALI graduate school. She is being reappointed to the conmission. Judge Scott J. Bailey of Cisco, Walton Byrd Reedy of Belton, Louis D. Whitehead of Fort Davis, and David Nance of Beaumont to the Advisory Council on Community Affairs. Bailey, 51, is Eastland County Judge and served as State Representative from 1961-62. He attended Cisco Junior College, North Texas State and The University of Texas law school. He will replace Sam Clonts of Austin, whose term expired. Judge Bailey will represent the Texas Association of Counties on the council. Reedy,63, is Executive Director of the Central Texas Council of Government and attended the University of Albuquerque. He will represent a duly constituted regional planning commission, replacing Jerry W. Chapman of Denison, whose term expired. Whitehead, 43, manages Shelton Ranches and attended San Angelo Junior Collge, Texas Tech University and Sul Ross University. He is being reappointed as a citizen member of the council. Nance, 52, is President of Nance Industries, Inc. ,an air conditioning and refrigeration firm. He attended Texas ALM University and will replace Elbert Rudolph Day of Dallas, whose term expired. Judge Baile and Reedy will serve terms extending to January 31, 1984. Whitehead and Nance will serve terms extending to January 31, 1983.
