Office of Governor William P. Cle lents, Jr. May 9, 1979 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements Wednesday designated Robert H. Dedman of Dallas as chairman of the State Board of Control. At the same time, he nominated William Byron Osborn Jr. of Santa Elena to succeed John M. Green of Beaumont on the Parks and Wildlife Commission. The Governor appointed Dedman, 53, founder and chairman of the board of Club Corporation of America, a member of the Board of Control April 18. Osborn, 60, is an independent oil and gas operator in San Antonio and lives on the Diamond 0 Ranch at Santa Elena. He was named to a six-year term extending to February 1, 1985. Governor Clements also announced these appointments Wednesday: Rai Benson Kelso of Galveston to succeed Pete S. Miller of Galveston as a member of the Texas Deepwater Port Authority. Kelso, 51, is president of Kelso Industries Inc. He was nominated for a six-year term extending to January 31, 1985. John G. Middleton of Wallisville to succeed Everett Champ Clark of Mont Belvieu to a six-year term (extending to March 15,1985) on the Trinity River Authority Board of Directors. Middleton, 37, heads Middleton Oil Company and is a farmer, rancher and attorney. Gene Garrison of Alice to succeed John Burris of Alice on the Nueces River Authority Board of Directors. Garrison, 49, who will serve a six-year term extending to February 1, 1985., is president of Alice National Bank. Mrs. Margot Birmingham Perot of Dallas to succeed Elizabeth Guiberson of Dallas as a member of the Texas Commission on The Arts and Humanities. Mrs. Perot, 45, will serve a six-year term extending to August 31, 1983. t###P
