OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS JR. April 4, 1980 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today named Omar Harvey of Dallas as a member and chairman of the Criminal Justice Division Advisory Board. Harvey, 59, will serve a term extending to March 12, 1981. He succeeds W.C. (Bill) Perryman of Athens who resigned to accept appointment to the Texas Public Safety Commission. Former Executive Director of the Texas Department of Community Affairs during the Clements administration, Harvey resigned the fulltime State position last December to become Director of Special Projects for the Boy Scouts of America. He previously served as President of First International Services Corporation, Executive Vice President of the First National Bank of Dallas and Branch Manager of IBM in Dallas. "I am confident Omar Harvey will bring to his new job the talent, dedication and enthusiasm he has demonstrated in all his previous endeavors," the Governor stated. "I am delighted that he has agreed to devote a portion of his time to State service."
