May 26, 1982 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the appointment of Mrs. Leota Veenker of Irving to the Texas Planning Council for Developmental Disabilities for a term extending to July 29, 1987. Mrs. Veenker is a member of the Irving Conmunity Hospital Board of Trustees and 1982 Chairman of the Dallas County Adult Mental Health Advisory Board. She attended The University of Texas at Dallas and North Lake Junior College and will replace John W. Weimer of Austin, whose term expired. Governor Clements also reappointed Ray Harrington,M.D. of Dallas to the Governor's Collmittee on Employment of the Handicapped for a one-year term extending to April 9, 1983. Dr. Harrington, 57, is an opthamologist and graduated from The University of Texas l\b.dical Branch in Galveston.
