OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P.CLErENTS,JR. March 23, 1979 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced that Dr. George J. Race of Dallas will serve as his special adviser for human and animal disease control- programs. Dr. Race is associate dean for continuing medical education at The University of Texas Health Science Center in Dallas. He is also dean of the endowed A. Webb Roberts Center for Continuing Education at the Baylor University Medical Center, Dallas. He is the author or editor of four medical books and has written more than 125 scientific articles. Dr. Race will serve without pay as an adviser to the Governor. "I am delighted that Dr. Race has agreed to assist me," Governor Clements stated. "He is a distinguished physician and scientist who brings to this office a wealth of expertise in highly-important fields. I intend to rely on him heavily during the next few months for advise on the brucellosis program." Dr. Race said: "I am looking forward to working closely with the Governor in disease control programs. I hope I can give good, sound, scientific and technical advice."
