e 10 6, 71- &5 eS)-,f11 OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. GOVERNOR MEMORANDUM TO: Pat Oles FROM: Bill Lauderback SUB : Texas Industrial Commission /..11 DATE: December 30, 1980 Pat, as you know, the Governor has signed off on the proposal to combine the Texas Industrial Commission, the Tourist Development Agency and the Texas Film Commission into one new agency - the Texas Department of Commerce. The Legislative Council is currently drafting this legislation and Biggart informs me that it should be ready for our review during the week of January 5. To accomplish this consolidation we will, of course, need the support of the board members of these respective agencies. It is in this effort that we need your input, guidance and involvement. I have attached a briefing memo dated December 4, 1980 which reviews in some detail the overall proposal. As soon after January 1 as possible I'd like to get with you to coordinate our efforts in contacting these board members. Thanks for your help. SAM HOUSTON BUILDING • P.O.
