THE STATE OF TEXAS EXECUTIVE DEPARTMENT OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR EXECUTIVE ORDER WPC - 19 ESTABLISHING THE GOVERNOR'S FLOOD CONTROL ACTION GROUP WHEREAS, the State of Texas is currently faced with a recurring problem of flooding throughout the state. 4(f0 WHEREAS, there exists a definite and immediate need for some means of accelerating progress on many of the various flood control issues which stand unresolved at this time; and pailde WIZ WHEREAS, local political subdivisions in Texas and their officials should receive all possible assistance in establishing preventive measures for floodinp., and WHEREAS, there is a need to create an entity to review the flood control proLl€144-t issues and coordinate the ideas and efforts of state and local officials along with other public and private individuals; and WHEREAS, an Action Group, with a proper understanding of the flood control 1,444des, would provide such function, feoblewS NOW, THEREFORE, I, William P. Clements, Jr., Governor of the State of Texas, under the authority vested in me, do hereby create and establish the GOVERNOR'S FLOOD CONTROL ACTION GROUP for the purpose of providing flood control assistance to state and local governments. The GOVERNOR'S FLOOD CONTROL ACTION GROUP (ACTION GROUP) shall be composed of no more than 13 members, appointed by the Governor. In addition the Governor shall designate from the membership a chairman. All members, including the chairman, shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor. The members of the ACTION GROUP shall serve without compensation, but shall be reimbursed for reasonable and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of their duties.
