• Office of the Governor July 26, 1982 MEMO • Austin, Texas 78711 Phone (512) 475-2131 TO: Hilary FROM: Polly 04 SUBJECT: Meeting with Robbie Risner and Ebb Grindstaff Nadine Francis tells me that Robbie is not giving WPC proper credit for War on Drugs effort. At a recent meeting he allowed Mark White to speak to 300 or 400 people and naturally he took the credit. Robbie also resents David Dean speaking on WPC behalf. When Nadine raises the subject, Robbie says, "Ross Perot says this is a non-partisan effort -- it's Texans War on Drugs" and refuses to discuss it further. If you could dejicately get it across to Robbie that without WPC he's out, it might help. He may think he's covering himself or something. He could be naive, also.
