Roach and former Senator Max Sherman came by the office to see you today and visited with me in your absence. T.L.'s term on the board expires August 31. He is not seeking reappointment and, due to business and other commitments; would not be able to accept it. T. L. and Max also said that Mr. Irby Carruth's term was expiring and that he also was not seeking reappointment. They said that Mr. Carruth was 80 plus years old and has served 2 full terms on the board. They both recommended that Mr. Tully Curry of Amarillo be reappointed. Curry is former VP John Nance Garner's grandson who was appointed to fill an unexpired term. T. L. said Curry of course supported Briscoe in the primary, but also switched over and helped him with Clements business in the general election. T. T. Manning - attorney - Amarillo College Board Member Democrat - supported Mark White on St. Anthony's Hospital Board --Joe Richardson - would be a great appointee but they think he has an interest in serving on the A&M Board --Dan Neely - Standard Distributor - WPC backer --Dave Warren - President of Panhandle Bank & Trust of Borger big contributor to school --Dudley Moore, M.D. - from Canyon - big financial backer of the school --Floyd Watson - from Pampa - President of First National Bank --Bo Bolter - attorney - Amarillo --Dr. Fred Johnson - civic leader in Amarillo, big financial backer of school --James Franklin - on board of First National in Amarillo --Red Koehler - Dalhart - President of Bank Both T. Said he would be a troublemaker and very disruptive. DAVID A. DEAN General Counsel
