Dean David Hiller, Special Assistant to the Attorney General, called me this afternoon. He said he had seen several of the newspaper articles about your visit with the Attorney General and apologized profusely • for the remarks attributed to him. He said the Attorney General and his staff, including himself, were very pleased with the meetina and your conciliatory remarks made. Hiiier said he went into some detail wfrfi-Tn7-rrrn-MMT-The areas that were identified in your meeting that the Attorney General will robabl modify. Hiller said he was pressed about whether the plan itself had been changed and he indicated that it had not been at that time. Hiller said he told the press that there had been a mutual misunder- standing and that the Attorney General's office had not explained their plan fully enough and that there was an awful lot of misunderstanding about it around the country.
