OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. January 17, 1980 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: James B. Owen of Tyler to the Texas Animal Health Commission for a six-year term to expire September 6, 1985. Owen, 55, is in the cattle and oil businesses. He will replace James D. Sartwelle of Sealy, whose term expired. Nathan Irving Reiter, Jr. of Texarkana and Dan M.Krausse of Dallas to the Texas Mining Council for two year terms to expire May 8, 1981. Reiter, 62, is a retired Army Colonel. He will replace Max Sherman of Canyon, whose term expired. Krausse,54, is director, president, and chief executive officer of Earth Resources Company. He will replace Fred P. Bergeron of Rockdale, whose term expired. Frances Jackson of Longview to the Metric System Advisory Council for a two-year term to expire August 29, 1981. Mrs. Jackson, 33, is a loan counselor at Longview Savings & Loan and will replace James Ralph Meadows of Columbus, whose term expired. Val Jean Hide of Houston to the Statewide Health Coordinating Council for a two-year term to expire October 21, 1981. Ms. Hide, 45,owns a medical record consultants firm. She is being appointed to an at-large Provider position. Lonnie Alfred Pilgrim of Pittsburg to the Egg Marketing Advisory Board for a six-year term to expire September 27, 1985. Pilgrim, 51, owns a poultry production firm. He will replace Jack Mark Dubose of Gonzales, whose term expired. Jack N. Roper, Sr. of Dallas to be chairman of the State Conservatorship Board for a term to expire January 31, 1981.
