OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. August 13, 1982 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: Van Henry Archer, Jr. of San Antonio to the Texas Advisory Commission on Inter- governmental Relations for a term extending to September 1, 1987. Archer is a stock broker and San Antonio City Councilman. He received a bachelor's degree from Trinity University and will replace Mrs. Lila Cockrell of San Antonio, who resigned. Bill W. Klotz of Houston to the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers for a six-year term extending to September 26, 1987. Klotz, 56, is President and Director of Corporation at Lockwwd, Andrews & Newman, Inc. He received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and will replace Fred J. Benson of College Station, whose term expired. Raquel Gonzalez of Taredo to the Metric System Advisory Council for a twp-ypar tem extending to August 29,1983. MS. Gonzalez is President of J.A. Gonzalez, Inc. garage. She is Dilector of International Good Neighbor Council and is being reappointed to the council, representing small businesses. W. Harold Brodt of Seguin and J.J. Pruitt of Pasadena to the Board of Trustees of the Fire Fighters' Relief and Retirement Fund for six-year terms extending to September 1, 1987. Brodt, 62, is retired after 32 years as Assistant Fire Chief at Randolph Air Force Rase. Pruitt, 52, is Harris County Fire Marshal and has been with the Houston Fire Department for 23 years. Both are being reappointed to the board. L. Gray Beck of San Angelo, Mary H. Duvall of Bowie, William J. Foran of Amarillo, George H. McCullough, M.D. of Fort Worth, Dr. Jarvis E. Miller of Austin, Rufus Edmonds Palm of Fort Worth, Frederick C. Rehfeldt, M.D. of Millsap and Jack S.Weinblatt,M.D.of TemplE to the Coordinating Council on Long-Term Care for the Elderly for terms extending to February 1, 1984. Beck is Chairman of the Texas Board of Mental Health and Mental Reta,-dation. Mrs. Duvall is Administrator of BelImire Home nursing home. Foran is Chairman of the Texas Board of Health. Dr. McCullough is Chairman of the Texas Rehabilitation Commission. Dr. Miller is Director of the Governor's Budget and Planning Office and is Chairman of the Coordinating Council on Long-Term Care for the Elderly. Palm owns a real estate investment company and is Chairman of the Texas Board on Aging. Dr. Rehfeldt is a retired medical doctor and now a management consultant. He is Chairman of the Texas Board of Human Resources. Dr. Weinblatt practices family medicine and is Chairman of the Texas Medical Association Committee on Aging and Nursing Homes.
