November 7, 1988 Governor William P. Clements, Jr. P.O. Box 12428 State Capitol Austin, TX 78711 Dear Governor Clements: The Texas Board of Health wants to shut Dr. Burzynski down. I am writing to ask •you a big favor. Dr. Burzvnski has operated in Texas, producing Antineonlastons and giving it to cancer patients for the last eleven years, with the bless- ings of the Board of Health and State Legislature. He has filed with the F.D.A. approximately 5 years ago, and he is hoping that approval will be granted soon. In the meantime, however, he must be able to operate in order to continue providing the medication to the Patients he is already treating. Imagine what would happen to those patients if they were unable to obtain the Antineoplastons that are keeping them alive. I have a very good friend who is one of them She has obtained great benefits from using the Antineonlastons: she is having a quality of life far superior than if she had not taken them. Prior to receiving them she was in a wheelchair and on oxygen, after her last hospitalization to remove fluids from her lungs. Now, she is off oxygen, she moves around, does things around the house, and goes shopping occasionally. Please let Dr. Burzynski operate until F.D.A. annroval. They, the cancer patients, diagnosed as incurable, must have the right to the treatment that is available, when conventional treatment is of no help. Dr. Burzynski's medication has no side effects and has not harmed anyone in all these years of treatment. It has helned many to go into remission, others find a quality of life they would not have had if Dr. Burzynski hadn't been there, and for others it has lengthened their lives So please give this your special attention, for the sake of all those patients getting help through the workings of Dr. Burzynski Sincerely, Patricia Aretha P.O.
