Bill Clements 1:111 for Governor FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JANUARY 16, 1987 News CONTACT: REGGIE BASHUR W - 512-476-1900 H - 512-499-8387 CLEMENTS TAPS DIRECTORS OF COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AND VOLUNTEER SERVICES, AND HOTLINE AUSTIN -- Gov.-elect Bill Clements announced today the appointment of Ann Wallace as the Director of Community Leadership and Volunteer Services. Wallace, an Austin resident, will be in charge of: the Commission for Women; Citizens Assistance; Texas Crime Victim Clearinghouse; Run-away Hotline; Governor's Juvenile Justice Education Project; Youth Opportunities Unlimited; and communities in Schools. Wallace has been a volunteer in many civic and public affairs functions throughout the state. "The Community Leadership programs are an important part of the services the state government provides the people of Texas," Clements said. "These programs will be maintained and improved. Effectiveness and efficiency will be increased. Ann Wallace has the experience and know-how to do a great job. She is a fine addition to our team." The incoming governor, who will be inaugurated on January 20, also announced that Mimi Correa, also of Austin, will become director of the Run-away Hotline. She also begins work January 20. Ms. Correa is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, and has been active in a number of civic and community organizations.
