Bill Clements for Governor FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JANUARY 15, 1987 News CONTACT: REGGIE BASHUR W - 512-476-1900 H - 512-499-8387 BILL CLEMENTS NAMES TASK FORCE DIRECTOR, ENERGY ADVISOR Dillard Hammett, 55, of Dallas, has been named by Gov.- Elect Bill Clements as the incoming governor's Director of Task Forces. In addition, Hammett will serve as an advisor to the Clements' administration on energy issues. Hammett, in his role with the Clements' administration that begins January 20, will coordinate the activities of all the task forces already named by the governor-elect, and of those yet to be appointed. His role as an energy advisor will include counsel on local, state and national energy issues. Hammett has worked in the energy industry for 27 years. His involvement in the industry has included the engineering/man- agement of projects related to research, construction, drilling production and marketing of oil and gas products. He received a degree in civil engineering from the University of Oklahoma. Hammett's activities have included involvement with the Governor's Advisory Council of Energy under former Gov. Dolph Briscoe, and membership in the Texas Board of Professional Engineers, the National Academy of Science and the Society of Petroleum Engineers. -30-
