Office of Governor William P. Clements, Jr. August 5, 1980 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements,who won wide acclaim from fellow governors at the National Governors' Association conference in Denver, Colorado for his efforts to improve relations between United States and Mexican state governments, today was named to head a special new N.G.A. Task Force on North American Cooperation. New N.G.A. Chairman, Governor George Busbee of Georgia, appointed Governor Clements to head the task force and also designated the Texas Governor to be vice-chairman of the N.G.A. Committee on International Trade and Foreign Relations. Membership of the task force will be announced later. Tentative plans call for the task force to be composed of nine governors.
