O June 6, 1988 The Honorable William P. Clements Governor of Texas State Capitol, Room 200 Austin, Texas 78711 Dear Governor Clements: Leo Zuniga Vice President/Public Affairs On behalf of Mr. George Becker, the staff of Sea World of Texas, and the Officers and Directors of Harcourt Brace Jovanovich, Inc., thank you for playing a special role in Sea World's grand opening activities of May 28, 1988. The priority and importance that you and Rita have placed on tourism is ap- preciated. We hope that Sea World of Texas exemplifies your vision of the benefits of tourism to Texas. Sea World of Texas represents a $170 million investment. By the time of our grand opening there were 2,100 employees at Sea World. The tourism in- dustry job development is immediate unlike that in the manufacturing sector where there is a gradual increase in employment. Sea World with its extensive advertising budget, will continue to extol the virtues of the State of Texas, San Antonio, and Sea World of Texas. On July 18, 1988 a CBS special, "Sea World's All-Star, Lone Star Celebration", will be shown nationwide. This is one more way in which Sea World will call attention to the many wonderful things in our state, in- cluding its folklore and tales. We hope you will be able to watch this special program which will air from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on June 18, 1988. Once again, thank you and Rita for joining us in our special grand opening celebration.
