\ \ THE GOVERNOR CLEMENTS COMMITTEE. 807, Brazos, Suite 1002 / Austin, Texas 78701 / Phone: (512) 474-6912 April 6, 1982 George: I checked with Source Telecommunication to see if we could use our System 6 terminal and printer. Tom at Source said "yes". All we would need would be a modem (telephone coupler unit). They have a Prime 750 computer and should not have any trouble communicating with us. He suggested an Anderson Jacobson modem but said there are many on the market at different prices. If you want to pursue this, I suggest talking to our IBM sales rep, Bill Underwood. Also I have already given you the information on a T.I. terminal. We can lease a keyboard which sends and receives and an external modem (the 820K5R) for $248/mo. including maintenance (minimum of 90 days). I don't think we need to invest in this unit if we are able to use the System 6. However, we might get a T.I. distributor out here to see what we have and try to sell us a modem. There are lots of small computer stores that might help us too. I feel rather lost since I know so little about computers. How about Karl helping us with some suggestions. E. JL "tt• c,c7
