Clements Governor-Elect 101 East 9th Street Austin, Texas 78701 Dear Bill: After the election I recall your saying that perhaps the Air Guard could do more in helping the interdiction of narcotics coming into this country. The National Narcotic Interdiction System (NNBIS) is the coordinating mechanism for all Federal agencies fighting the interdiction war. The SW border regionS,' is headed by Blue Logan of Customs. I would appreciate very much your_____talkin t this.. Blue can be reached at: 713/953-6841 • designating someone to handle this for you, I would be delighted to contact that person. NNBIS has been working very closely with State and Local officials. Once the Air Guard is given the instructions from you on what you want them to do, NNBIS will work closely with the Air Guard people to be sure all goes smoothly. Warm best wishes, kY/ Sincerely,
