Office of Governor William P. Clements, Jr. June 21, 1979 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the appointment of William E. Junell of Houston to be associate justice of the Fourteenth Court of Civil Appeals in Houston. Junell is replacing Judge George E. Cire of Houston who was recently sworn in as a federal judge. Junell, 59, has been a partner in the firm of Sewell, Junell & Riggs in Houston. He has resided in Houston since 1942 and has been engaged in a general civil law practice with an emphasis on trials of civil litigation. He is a past director of the Houston Bar Association. He was born in Sulphur Springs and reared in Wichita Falls. He received his bachelor's and law degrees from the University of Texas.
