OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. January 8, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the appointment of Robert Riter Foster of Longview to be Criminal District Attorney of Gregg County until the next general election and until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified. Foster, 35, will replace Odis R. Hill of Longview, who resigned. The appointment will be effective January 10, 1981. Foster is a partner in Foster and Jones law firm. He served as Assistant Criminal District Attorney, Gregg County from 1977 - 1978. He received a bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University and a law degree from Texas Tech University. He and his wife, Gerry, have one child.
