Derrick, Dick W. "Speedy" Hicks, Claude J. Kelley, Jr., to the Texas Prosecutors Coordinating Council; and Chris Semos to be Chairman of the Texas 1986 Sesquicentennial Commission.
OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. February 29, 1980 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the appointment of Clyde E. Whiteside of Nocona to be Judge of the 97th Judicial District Court, Montague, Clay, and Archer Counties, until the next general election and until his successor shall be duly elected and qualified. Whiteside, 52, is a lawyer. He served as a member of the Texas Board of Pardons and Paroles and as a member of the Texas Legislature. He is a former County Attorney and former District Attorney. Whiteside will replace Judge Marvin F. London of Montague County, who is deceased. The appointment is effective immediately. Governor Clements also announced the appointment of Howard C. Derrick of Eldorado, Dick W. "Speedy" Hicks of Bandera, and Claude J. Kelley, Jr. of Fredericksburg to the Texas Prosecutors Coordinating Council for two-year terms to expire December 31, 1981. Derrick, 56, is a rancher. Kelley , 53, is a rancher. Hicks,64, owns Hicks Realty firm. They are being reappointed to the council. Governor Clements also designated Rep. Chris Semos of Dallas to be Chairman of the Texas 1986 Sesquicentennial Commission for a one-year term effective immediately.
