Dean October 4, 1979 TRANSFER OF TEXAS ORGANIZED CRIME PREVENTION COUNCIL STAFF TO CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION. Attached is your Executive Order that effectuates the transfer of the Organized Crime Prevention Council staff to the Criminal Justice Division of the Governor's Office. Criminal Justice has been reviewing this at my request. The effect of this transfer is to integrate the OCPC staff with the CJD staff. CJD support capabilities are greater and already exist to serve the basic purposes of OCPC. Only part of the OCPC staff will be kept by CJD. The Executive Director of OCPC has already tendered his resignation to you. (A letter of acceptance is attached for your signature). You need, as chairman of the council, to call a meeting of the council in the next month to 6 weeks. From November 1 to November 15 the only free time you have is Janie's time. DAD:sfb 1.
