Dean 04:2_,0D • e_45) Austin, Texas 78711 Phone (512) 475-3021 The Prosecutors Coordinating Council as requested a meeting with you during rnir meeting in January (letter a ached). I think this is a good idea. It will give you an opportunity to discuss with them what they can do to assist in the passage of the Anti-Crime Package, as well as to get your thoughts and comments on how to improve the operation of the Prosecutors Coordinating Coun- cil. The Prosecutors Coordinating Council has five prosecutors and four lay members. The Prosecutors are Bill White, District Attorney, San Antonio; Chris Mealy, County Attorney, Llano; Tim Eyssen, District Attorney, Wichita Falls; and Dick Brainerd, County Attorney, Vega; and one vacancy which will be filled by the Texas District and County Attorneys Association's Board of Directors sometime in January or February. The lay members, all appointed by you, are Howard Derrick, El Dorado; Speedy Hicks, Bandera; Claude Kelley, Fredericksburg; and Joe Schott, Castroville (city editor San Antonio Light). If you agree to the meeting with them, and I recommend it, then please indicate a date and time convenient to you in January (other than the 8th, 9th, or 10th, as requested by Howard Derrick who will be out of state and wishes to attend the meeting) for the meeting. If you like, I will be happy to convey the date and time to Andy Shuval who will notify the members. Also, I am sure they will be happy to meet with you in your office if you desire. blw citt ft;-14 tz14, ,ve,„ aZ 11-r )4444-e. DAVID A. DEAN Gene, al Counsel
