OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. January 30, 1980 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: James Smith Bowie of Houston to the Texas Youth Council for a six-year term to expire August 31, 1985. Bowie, 40, owns a financial consulting and insurance firm. He will replace Howard J. Middleton, Jr. of Houston, whose term expired. F. Herman Coleman of Waco to the Board of Regents of Texas State Technical Institute for a six-year term to expire August 31, 1981. Coleman, 50, is president of Texas National Bank. He will fill the unexpired term of John H. (Jack) Kultgen of Waco, who resigned. Richard Arthur Box, D.D.S. of Austin to the Texas Real Estate Commission for a two-year term to expire January 31, 1981. Dr. Box, 39, practices general dentistry and is being appointed to a new position on the commission, representing the general public. Wilburn Rust of Austin to the Board of Trustees, Texas County and District Retirement System for a six-year term to expire December 31, 1985. Rust, 51, is Travis County auditor and is being reappointed to the board. Mrs. Betty Starling of San Marcos to the Teachers' Professional Practices Commission for a two-year term to expire August 31, 1981. Mrs. Starling,50 , is assistant professor at Southwest Texas State University. She will replace Dr. Richard D. Strahan of Houston, whose tQrm expired. R.C. Wisdom of Austin to the Texas Board of Land Surveying for a six-year term to expire January 31, 1985. Wisdom, 72, is a consultant in state land surveying and is being reappointed to the board.
