OtkICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. November 6, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today named his general counsel, H. David Herndon of Austin, to be director of the Criminal Justice Division for a term at the pleasure of the Governor. Herndon, 36, will replace David A. Dean, who resigned upon appointment as Secretary of State. Herndon attended The University of Texas undergraduate and law school. Governor Clements also reappointed Charles K. "Buddy" Glasse of Houston, David Melass of Lake Jackson and Perfecto R. "Rodd" Rodriguez of Sugarland to the Texas Structural Pest Control Board for two-year terms extending to August 30, 1983. Glasse, 53, is president of Redwood Chemical, a pesticide sales firm. Yelass, 40, is :Dresident of Termi-Trol Pest, Inc. Rodriguez, 39, is vice president of Allied Fairbanks Bank in Houston. The Governor also reappointed Captain Charles R. Branch of Friendswood to the position of Branch Pilot for the Ports of Galveston County for a four-year term extending to September 1, 1985.
