OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WTTLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. June 25, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today named Martin O'Neal of Dallas and Betsy Stanley of Fort Worth to the Texas Commission for the Deaf. O'Neal, 60, is president of Southwest Wheel & Manufacturing, Inc. He received a bachelor's degree from Southern Methodist University and a master's degree from Baylor University. He will fill the unexpired term of Ralph H. White of Austin, who resigned. The term extends to January 31, 1983. Mrs. Stanley is a member of the Texas Association for the Deaf and past president of the National Fraternal Society of the Deaf. She will replace Gwendel D. Butler of Austin, whose term expired. Mrs. Stanley will serve a six-year term extending to January 31, 1987. Governor Clements also appointed Allan R. Barry, Lance Alan Miller, and Ernest D. Reed, all of Houston, as Branch Pilots for the Galveston Bar and Houston Ship Channel for four-year terms extending to March 8, 1985. Captain Barry is being reappointed. Captains Miller and Reed are qualified to act as branch pilots.
