GOVERNOR STATE OF TEXAS OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR AUSTIN, TEXAS 76701 May 22, 1980 The Honorable Dixy Lee Ray Governor of Washington Legislative Building Olympia, Washington 98504 Dear Dixy: Thank you for your prompt reply to my recent correspondence regarding the need to rewrite the NGA energy policy. I am most gratified by your full endorsement of the policies presented in the Interstate Oil Compact Commission resolution. As you know, the Staff Advisory Council of the Committee on Natural Resources and Environmental Management is scheduled to meet June 1-3 at Winrock, Arkansas, for the purpose of developing an outline for the new NGA policy statement. I urge you to send a representative to this meeting as I believe this staff work to be critically important. Again, I appreciate your strong endorsement of this domestic production oriented energy policy and look forward to working with you in this redrafting effort this summer. It was great to hear from you and I certainly am in agreement with your letter. Hope to see you soon!
