Schulz to the Board of Directors of the Nueces River Authority, and Josephine E. Abercrombie to the Texas War Against Drugs Committee.
OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. March 18, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today named Dr. Joaquin Gonzales_Ciarroa, Jr. of Laredo to the Texas Board of Health and Dr. W.C. Perry of Waoo to the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System. At the same time, thc Governor reappointed John S. Cargile of San Angelo and Bernard G. Johnson of Houston to the Board of Regents of the Texas State University System. Governor Clements reappointed Hector Gutierrez, Jr. of Fort Wbrth tc be a member of the Texas Industrial Commission and Harry J. Schulz of Three Rivers to the Board of Directors of the Nueces River Authority. He named Mrs. Josephine E. Abercrombie of Houston to the Texans War Against Drugs Committee. Dr. Cigarroa, 56, attended the University of Texas and Harvard Medical School. He is president of the Laredo Independent School District. He served on the Sena;te Welfare Refoim Conmittcc in 1971 and on the Texas Commission on Higher Education from 1963-1965. Dr. Cigarroa was on the Coordinating Board of Texas Colleges and Universities from 1965- 1969 andis a Diplomat of the American Board of Internal Medicine. He will serve a six-year term extending to February 1, 1987, replacing Dr. Ramiro R. Casso of McAllen, whose term expired. Dr. Perry, 70, is a retired teacher. He will replace Mrs. Harry Hornby, Jr. of Uvalde, whose teLm expired. Cargile, 55, is president of Producers Livestock Auction Company. Johnson, 65, owns an engineering firm. All will serve six-year terms extending to January 10, 1987. Gutierrez,33, is district staff supervisor and residential services supervisor for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He will_ serve a six-year term extending to February 15, 1987. Schulz, 67, is a lawycr and serves as county and city attorney. He is trustee and president of Three Rivers Independent School District. He will serve a six-year term extending to February 1, 1987. Mrs. Abercrombie is president of J.S. Abercrombie Mineral Company. She will serve a one-year term extending to February 20, 1982.
