OEFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEW-NTS, a. November 17, 1981 For immediate release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: Walker C. Friedman of Fort Worth and Adele Lucas of Cuero to the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. Friedman, 29, is an attorney with Snakard, Brown & Gambill law firm. He received a bachelor's degree from The University of Texas and law degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law. He will serve a term extending to April 13, 1985. Mrs. Lucas is in the ranching business. She has been involved in work for the Cuero Community Hospital, the American Cancer Society and the United Fund. She will serve a term extending to April 13, 1987. F. Herman Coleman of Waco and James A.Besselman of Amarillo to the Board of Regents of Texas State Technical Institute for six-year terms extending to August 31, 1987. Coleman, 52, is president of Texas National Bank. He is former director and first vice president of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas. He attended Baylor University and Southwestern School of Banking at Southern Methodist University. He is being reappointed to the board. Besselman, 38, is a lawyer and partner in Underwood, Wilson, Berry, Stein & Johnston law firm. He attended University of Texas undergraduate and law school. He will replace T.J. Richards of Paducah, whose term expired. Thomas Melvin Demarest, Jr. of Arlington to the Texas Motor Vehicle Commission for a six-year term extending to January 31, 1987. Demarest, 52, is president of Mid City Chrysler Plymouth company. He attended University of Texas and will replace John N. Cleveland of San Angelo, whose term expired.
