OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. December 17, 1982 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following appointments: John M. Bennett of San Antonio to the Texas Historical Commission for a term extending to January 1, 1987. Bennett, 74, is a retired Air Force Major General who attended Princeton and received an undergraduate degree from The University of Texas. He will replace J. Clifton Caldwell of Albany, whose term expired. Dr. Robert Lyle Rouse of Lubbock to the State Pension Review BoLl_d for a teLm extending to January 31, 1983. Rouse, 60, is an economics professor at Texas Tech University . He received a bachelor's degree from Coe College, a master's and Ph.D. from University of Iowa. He will fill the unexpired term of Dean Gorham as an active member of a public retirement system. Gorham, of Austin, has been appointed to a "retired member" position on the board. Mary L. Longsworth of Dallas to the Texas Cosmetology Commission for a term extending to December 31, 1987. MS. Long sworth is an analysis programmer at Texas Instruments. She is President of the Dallas Pilot Club and attended Southern Methodist University. She will fill the unexpired term of Joe H. Golman of Dallas, who resigned. Maxey R. Grossenbacher of Rio Hondo to the Texas Aeronautics Commission for a six-year term extending to December 31, 1988. Grossenbacher, 49, is President of Grossenbacher Oil Company in Harlingen and Grossenbacher Farms in La Feria. He is Past President of Texas Oil Marketers and Committee Chairman of the Airoort Noise Control and Land Use Survey in Harlingen. He received a bachelor's degree from Texas A&M University and is being reappointed to the commission, effective December 31. Dr. Lee R. Williamson of Wichita Falls to the Board of Trustees of the Teacher Retirement System of Texas for a term extending to August 31, 1983. Dr. Williamson, 59, is Superintendent of Schools for Wichita Falls Independent School District. He attended Central State University, Edmond, Oklahoma, undergraduate school and received a master's degree from University of Oklahoma and Ph.D. from University of Northern Colorado. He will fill the unexpired term of Dewey G. Smith of Alice, who has retired and is no longer eligible for the position. Benton Luedecke of Cat Spring to the State Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners for a term extending to September 6, 1987. Luedecke, 77, is a salesman for Lutheran Mutual Life. He is Vice President of the Cat Spring Agricultural Society and will fill a new position on the board.
