OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. September 1, 1982 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today announced the following reappointments: J. Frank Holt of Dallas to the Texas Turnpike Authority for a six-year term extending to February 15, 1987. Holt, 53, operates an investments firm. He is Director of the Dallas Chamber of Commerce, Director of the Dallas County Red Cross and Past President of the Insurance Club of Dallas. He attended Southern Methodist University. Dolores Valadez of Mission to the Teachers' Professional Practices Commission for a term extending to August 31, 1983. Mrs. Valadez is an elementary classroom teacher for McAllen Independent School District and a member of the Association of Texas Professional Educators. She received bachelor's and master's degrees from Pan American University. William F. Powell, Jr. of Weslaco, Paul G. Veale, Sr. of MbAllen and William W. Scurlock of McAllen to the Rio Grande Valley Municipal Water Authority for two-year terms extending to April 30, 1984. Powell, 59, owns an insurance agency. He attended Texas A&M University. Vtale, 61, is a partner in an accounting firm and received a bachelor's degree from Texas ALI University. He is former Mayor of McAllen and Chairman of the International Bridge Board. Scurlock, 60, is President of Scurlock's Inc., a retail super market chain. He attended The University of Texas.
