June 3, 1985 Mr. John Rhea 1901 North Akard Street Dallas, Texas, 75201 Dear John: While I was in Houston At the Schlumberger Board of Directors cocktail party, I met an old friend of ours, Ken Joynt. You will recall that we first knew Ken in West Texas and Mexico working for Mobil, and then later you had a lot to do with him at Morgan City, Louisiana, in regard to the platform rigs. Ken tells me that after retiring from Mobil as Production Manager, he joined Pogo in the same capacity and has now recently retired from Pogo. I am attaching his card which gives his address and telephone number in Houston. I would like for you to contact Ken, go to Houston, and discuss Pogo's production, personnel, and reserves with him. I am sure Ken will give you the straight dope and will confide in you to the extent that he wouldn't do with someone else. Perhaps it would be a good idea to talk with Gill and Steve before you go and get from them such ideas as they may have in regard to questions about Pogo that we would like to have answered.
