OFFICE OF GOVERNOR WILLIAM P. CLEMENTS, JR. April 5, 1979 For Immediate Release: Governor Bill Clements today nominated Charles L. Price of Houston as judge of the 125th District Court in Harris County. Price, 48, was named to succeed Judge Lewis Dickson of Houston who resigned. If confirmed by the Senate, he will serve until the next general election and until a successor is qualified. A partner in the Houston law firm of Kennerly and Price, Price is an honor graduate of Baylor University Law School. He also holds a bachelor of arts degree from Baylor. He has 23 years experience as a trial attorney. He practiced law in Corsicana before moving to Houston. Clements today also sent to the Senate the nomination of Dr. John A. Welty of Harlingen to the State Board of Medical Examiners. Dr. Welty, 60, will succeed Dr. Nicholas G. Palmarozzi of Groves whose term expired. He will serve until April 13,1985. The Governor appointed John Walter Crain, director of the Dallas Historical Society, to a three-year term on the State Historical Records Commission. Crain, 34, will succeed Dr. Frank Vandiver of Houston whose term expired, and will serve until January 23, 1982. The appointment is not subject to Senate confirmation.
