iVILLIAM P CLEMENTS, JR. GOVERNOR Honorable Dolph Briscoe Box 389 Uvalde, Texas 78801 Dear Governor: OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR STATE CAPITOL AUSTIN, TEXAS 78711 December 23, 1980 I really enjoyed visiting with you yesterday about Governor Clements' Anti- Crime Package. It was like old times. As we discussed, I have attached a copy of each of the Bills and the accompanying Bill Analysis so you may have an opportunity to review, more in-depth, what each Bill does. I have also enclosed a copy of each Bill and Bill Analysis that will be pre- sented to the Legislature by Ross Perot's War on Drugs Committee. The Bills in each of the Packages compliment each other and are needed to make traf- ficking in narcotics an unprofitable and unhealthy business in Texas. It is my personal opinion that your support would add a great deal of weight to the passage of these non-partisan Anti-Crime and Anti-Drug Packages. I know that your endorsement will be personally appreciated by Governor Clements. I will get in touch with you in early January after you have had an opportunity to review the Bills so we may discuss them further. I am glad to hear that Janey is doing well, and I wish you and Janey a happy and healthy holiday. Respetfully, 46/avid A. Dean General Counsel DAD:blw Attachments
