"We particularly need to coordinate the efforts and interests of states along the Mexican border," the Dallas Republican told Lewisville Rotary Club members. "We need a governor who will articulate these needs and take them to Washington and make them listen to us for a change." Clements sandwiched the speech between conferences with editorial boards of two Dallas newspapers. The fast moving candidate met with publishers of two newspapers in Seguin Tuesday and with editorial boards of two newspapers in San Antonio.
